GDF Suez Combustion Test Facility
The Centre specialises in all aspects of Engineering research but in particular; Recycled construction materials, monitoring of buildings, combustion and heat transfer, condition monitoring and advanced control and optimisation. Collaboration with industry is extensive with companies such as GDF Suez, other links are highlighted throughout this site. The Centre has the following objectives;
- To undertake high quality engineering research and provide trained engineers to meet the needs of industry
- To enhance the standing of the University of Glamorgan both nationally and internationally
In the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise, in collaboration with the Sustainable Environment Research Centre, the Engineering Research Centre achieved a profile of 4* 5%, 3* 55%, 2* 35% and 1* 5% with 9.85 FTE Staff in the General Engineering and Mineral & Mining Engineering Unit of Assessment, the best submission within the University of Glamorgan
